2018 EXCURSION
In Geography, we are studying climate, vegetation and native fauna of Australia (Year 3), as well as African and European countries (Year 4). We look at 'the importance of environments to animals and people, and different views on how they can be protected'. As part of this unit of work, we will look in detail at the environments of the Great Barrier Reef and Antarctica, both of which are susceptible to a climate change threats.
In Science, Biological Sciences - Year 3 - 'Living things can be grouped on the basis of observable features and can be distinguished from non-living things'.
For Year 4 - 'Living things have life cycles', and 'Living things depend on each other and the environment to survive'.
We are planning an excursion to Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation centre in Lesmurdie in late October or early November.
The focus will be looking at animal features and adaptations for Australian animals in particular, but animals in general.
