ONLINE LEARNING
We have set up, and are increasingly using, our Google Classroom in Google Drive to learn and submit assignments. Students are able to access this from home.
As part of the login process, and notification system, students have been given an email address linked to their Landsdale PS school google classroom. We discussed safe use of email and continue to discuss safe practices when using the internet.
Please have a talk with your student to reinforce these issues. This Thursday, we will return to our Cyber Safety lessons in Health.
For more information, look at the Health tab on this website. Mrs M

NAPLAN IS OVER! We will commence our 'JOY & DATA' 'agentic' learning program. Students will begin working on real-world, authentic, complex, challenging, collaborative projects with a focus on applying and integrating their Literacy, Numeracy, Science, HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences), Health and Digital Technologies skills to create, publish and implement solutions that make a difference. 'Agency'/agentic' are words used to describe an approach that accepts the challenge of becoming involved in creating/inventing/changing future realities: being an active global citizen and Making A Difference). Ethical, personal, social/humanitarian and environmental responsibilities are cornerstones of our Global Education Projects. So is the application of critical, creative, divergent thinking and dreaming. Welcome to LA 29 2024,
Year 6
Your teachers are:
Mrs Marrion
(Monday morning, Tues - Fri)
Mrs Condren
(Monday after recess)
I hope you had a wonderful break and are looking forward to a year of learning, enjoyment and challenge!
Class Dojo is the main method of communication with families, so please make sure you join and check Dojo, as well as your child's Homework folder for the information and permission letters sent home on Wednesday 1 Febuary.
Landsdale is a 1:1 school so we have a 1:1 child ratio of devices at school for students.
If you would like to nominate for the Parent Link program, but forgot to sign the sheet on the first day outside the class, you can add your details to the sheet in the classroom any morning or afternoon in the first few days.
All students have been given a Homework and Communication book and a parent invite to Class Dojo. The Homework book has important information about school priorities and homework expectations. Please use either of these methods to let me know about any factors that may impact your child's learning and wellbeing, and also for communication about other matters such as absences.
If you have any queries, you can contact me via Compass, email at the address below, or with a note in your child's Homework and Communication book.

HOLIDAY WORK
If you want to practice some Naplan-type papers, check out Studyladder and also Ziptales. In Ziptales, go to the 3-6 Extending Literacy link after logging in. Then scroll down to the bottom right of the page and look for the Naplan-style test link.
YEAR 3 STUDENTS NAPLAN
In Week 7 Term 1, between 15 and 27 March, students will sit their Year 3 NAPLAN tests.
We will be revising concepts that were identified as needing more support based on Naplan tests the Year 2 students completed in November 2022.
We also do a few trial online tests to prepare them for the format that NAPLAN will take.
NAPLAN is all online except for writing in Year 3; writing is still handwritten for Year 3 students.
